Youth Voice Awards

Welcome to the 2nd Annual Youth Voice Awards.

Once again, Lila Music Centre’s director, Cari Burdett, has teamed up with The Cowichan Aboriginal Festival of Film and Art to present the 2nd Annual Youth Voice Awards, April 23rd - 26th, 2014. This award was created in 2013 as a way to encourage collaborations between all of the diverse cultures we have in our community. We want to offer a space where youth can express, create, collaborate, build community, and spread their message with their VOICES. As a youth, Cari was awarded many opportunities that helped shape her work as an evolving and budding artist. The Youth Voice Awards are her way of paying-it-forward to the young people of the Cowichan Valley, giving our communities young musicians a space to inspire and be inspired.
