SO WHAT IS BODY PERCUSSION?
Stomp stomp CLAP! Stomp stomp CLAP! Combine a whole lot of fun, rhythm and playful movement and you get Body Percussion! Did you know that any human body could be turned into a beautiful musical instrument? Well it can be! Music is all around us and in each one of us. The human body is the original instrument… all you need is YOU. Through clapping, snapping, patting, stomping, clicking, tapping and vocalizing, anyone can turn his or her body into a musical drum kit anytime and anywhere. The health benefits are enormous! It’s an upbeat way to sharpen your mental and physical precision, improve coordination and balance while connecting joyfully with others. Body percussion playfully brings you into the present where you become part and heart of the music. Karin Lewis teaches body percussion as part of her fun ongoing drumming programs for schools, weekly-specialized classes and private lessons for children and adults throughout Vancouver Island.

TESTIMONIALS:
What a great facilitator/teacher you are. You inspire us all with new rhythms and new ways of feeling and hearing the rhythms. The vocal exercise last week actually had me seeing the rhythms inside my head, like gentle flames of energy moving around my body. It is a joy for us to be there. ~ Heather
Karin, I wanted to let you know that my son and I really enjoyed the drumming circle. It was fun, creative and educational. Thanks so much. Hope to see you again sometime. ~ Susan
Brilliant class yesterday! I liked the combo of drumming, rhythm, voice and I’m looking forward to the next one, too. ~ Iris
Had a great time tonight. It’s the vibrations… that’s the feeling you take away…body and soul is vibrating with the rhythms by the end of the class. And you just want more. It’s a great feeling! ~ Carmel
Thank you again. You are the epitome of expressing “the music that dances within us.”
~ Daniel
Thank you for yesterday’s workshop. It encompassed every word that each of us spoke in what we hoped to get out of it. That was my first experience, and feel that the circle is my best way of learning. Please keep me informed so that I may do more in the future.~ Mary
