100 Voices for One World - invites you to come on out and sing.
Calling all voices to sing for Humanity, begins next week.

Calling all voices in the Cowichan Valley to come on out and sing together. - songs for the world, gospel, folk, fun, harmony, uplifting songs to share together as one. - One Voice. One Heart Beating. —

Rehearsals start May 7th - accepting singers throughout. don’t be shy!!
Sliding scale per person $20 - $100 until June 21st.
Including rehearsals and 4 concerts. - or more!!?? in the future?
Be generous and affordable.

3 times a week to choose from:( attend one or all for the same exchange)
Mondays 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm at Lila Music Centre, 3228A Gibbins Rd Duncan BC
Wednesdays 9:30 am - 10:30 am Mercury Theatre, 331 Brae Rd, Duncan BC
Thursdays 5:15 - 6:15 pm at the Quamichan House at the Quw’utsun’ Cultural Centre, Duncan BC

Performances
June 21st - INternational Aborigional Day with the Spirit Drummers
June 27th - International Multicultural Day with the Cowichan Intercultural Society
June 30th - Summer Fest, 100th Year celebration of the city of Duncan
July 1st Canada Day celebrations.

 

Participation in all concerts is not mandatory but encouraged.

Homeschoolers invited.
Families invited.
All ages welcome.
Non audition.

1) ONE VILLAGE
Composed by Maggie Wheeler for a commission for the Santa Barbara Children’s Chorus. Here it is performed by the Golden Gate Community Choir, directed by Maggie Wheeler and Emile Hassan Dyer.

2) TEDUMELA
Tedumela is by South African Brian Abrahams. Here is it is combined with We are One by Roxane Smith. Roxane is a member of the Natural Voiceswork Practitioners Network in the U.K.

3) WE LET THE LOVE
The song is by Ricky Byars Beckwith, the wife of Reverend Michael Beckwith of the Agape Church in L.A. My friend Maggie Wheeler, learned the song from Arnae who taught it at a little workshop in her house a few years ago.

Thanks to Patti Powell, choir leader of Acapella Laboratory who taught this song to us at the Community Choir Leadership Training in 2007.
Terrance Kelley of the Oakland Interfaith Gospel choir who taught it to Patti Powell and to Shekinah Glory, where the music originated.
